Your Integrated Presicion Positioning (and) Elevation Engine
YIPPEE is a personal project that I started in early 2025, and was my entry into hardware design, as I was interested in learning more about how my college rocketry team developed the hardware for its flight computers.
After receiving help from our Electronic Hardware lead, I had a schematic and layout I was happy with and produced it in our school's electronic lab. The software for this project was in majority written by me with some key contributions from Surag Nuthulapaty, who is a very smart and cool guy.

YIPPEE Software: common questions
What microcontroller does the YIPPEE Software use?
The YIPPEE Software is built around the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family.
How big is the YIPPEE Software PCB?
The YIPPEE Software measures 21.2 × 82.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the YIPPEE Software?
22 components, from 16 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the YIPPEE Software design files?
From the mpkarpov-ui/YIPPEE_Software repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the YIPPEE Software design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mpkarpov-ui. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the YIPPEE Software without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
