About the Neo16 PCB

Neo16 is an open source PCB design by penayush-tronics, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 18 × 19 mm, with 35 components from 5 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 16 diodes, 1 connector and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A 4x4 Neopixel matrix panel which is available in multiple sizes. Panels be chained with each other to extend/expand the matrix.

A 4x4 matrix panel of 16 addressable LEDs, which can be used to display small graphics, animations, or keyboard characters. These addressable LEDs (also refered to as NeoPixels) are RGB and so can take more than one colour. These panels can also be 'daisy-chained' together, so that many panels can be used at once. The biggest feature is how it only needs one data pin from a microcontroller/dev board to start displaying. There are multiple sizes available.

Neo16: common questions

How big is the Neo16 PCB?

The Neo16 measures 18 × 19 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Neo16?

35 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Neo16 design files?

From the penayush-tronics/Neo16 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Neo16 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which penayush-tronics chose for the repository.
