Hardware and software Implementation of a calf heater fabric
- Green = 40deg - Blue = 44deg - Red = 48deg The device uses PID control to warm up the fabric and maintain the desired temperature at all times ensuring safe.bumpless and comfortable use. When the battery level gets too low the RED led flashes at 1 sec intervals indicating need for charging. the device is charged via the Micro-USB port. During charging, 2 leds below the on button are used for monitoring. Red is constantly on if its connected to power, and the Green LED indicates charging status: - ON = CHarging - OFF = Done charging

Calve heater: common questions
What microcontroller does the Calve heater use?
The Calve heater is built around the ATMEGA328P-MU, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Calve heater PCB?
The Calve heater measures 43.8 × 25 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Calve heater?
56 components, from 35 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Calve heater design files?
From the R-Mutura/calve_heater repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Calve heater design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with R-Mutura. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Calve heater without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
