About the Hackpad PCB

Hackpad is an open source PCB design by rishith-c, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 95 × 95 mm, with 28 components from 6 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 12 switches, 12 diodes and 3 connectors.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

4-key macropad + EC11 encoder + OLED, XIAO RP2040, KMK firmware. Submitted to Hack Club Hackpad YSWS.

A 12-key macropad with a rotary encoder and an OLED display, built on a Seeed XIAO RP2040 and running KMK firmware. Submitted to Hack Club's Hackpad You Ship, We Ship program.

v2 — the most loaded build that fits the Hackpad rules at once: 12 MX keys, 1 EC11 rotary encoder, 1 OLED display, and every usable GPIO on the XIAO consumed (11 / 11). 13 inputs, well under the 16-input cap; 95 × 95 mm board, well inside the 100 × 100 mm size cap.

Hackpad: common questions

How big is the Hackpad PCB?

The Hackpad measures 95 × 95 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackpad?

28 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackpad design files?

From the rishith-c/hackpad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackpad design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which rishith-c chose for the repository.
