About the Klaw PCB

Klaw is an open source PCB design by scrambletools, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 128.6 × 98.5 mm, with 63 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the -. By type, the board carries 18 jumpers, 18 switches, 18 diodes, 2 connectors, 2 battery holders and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

34-key reversible split keyboard — one PCB for both halves; hotswap MX, per-key RGB, OLED, encoder, wired or wireless. KLOR-derived.

KLAW is a compact 34-key split keyboard with LEDs, OLED, buzzer and encoder. It is designed as one reversible PCB that serves both halves - components on the back face make the right half, components on the front face make the left half. One board design: the same gerber files can be used for both halves, with separate BOM and CPL files per half. Every component can be machine-assembled, but you may want to hand-assemble the MCU and OLED modules. The latest hardware revision is rev 2.

Klaw: common questions

How big is the Klaw PCB?

The Klaw measures 128.6 × 98.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Klaw?

63 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Klaw design files?

From the scrambletools/klaw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Klaw design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which scrambletools chose for the repository.
