About the Reflow-Oven PCB

Reflow-Oven is an open source STM32 PCB design by Sensei82013, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 40.7 × 49.8 mm, with 45 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3 and MAX6675ISA_. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 10 resistors, 7 test points, 5 connectors, 4 diodes and 3 ICs.

From the project

STM32F103 reflow oven controller: K-type thermocouple via MAX6675, 160 W element through a solid state relay, on-MCU PI loop, browser UI over SWD, and a 7in Nextion panel in progress.

A toaster oven converted into a PCB reflow oven, driven by a custom STM32F103 board with a K-type thermocouple, a solid state relay and a 7" Nextion touch panel.

The firmware runs a PI loop on the MCU. A host can steer it either from a small web app over SWD (working today) or from the Nextion panel (in progress).

Two board quirks worth knowing before wiring anything:

Reflow-Oven: common questions

What microcontroller does the Reflow-Oven use?

The Reflow-Oven is built around the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Reflow-Oven PCB?

The Reflow-Oven measures 40.7 × 49.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Reflow-Oven?

45 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Reflow-Oven design files?

From the Sensei82013/Reflow-Oven repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Reflow-Oven design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Sensei82013. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Reflow-Oven without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
