About the PolpoBoard PCB
PolpoBoard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by snjung, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 166.3 × 134.8 mm, with 34 components from 13 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Arduino_Nano_v3.x, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the 74HC595 and ULN2803A. By type, the board carries 17 ICs, 10 connectors, 5 capacitors, 1 module and 1 transistor.
From the project
Building an electronic Scoreboard
The main idea is to have a Raspberry Pi acting as a web-server and providing control of the scoreboard via a simple webpage to connected devices. The Raspberry Pi will transmit the data to be shown on the scoreboard to an arduino board via serial interface. The Arduino will then control the hardware. Currently this includes - Custom Build 7-segment elements to show goals and time left of the current game - A 12V car horn used for signaling end of game / half-time - Display-Panels build of 8x8 dot-matrix LED elements to show the names of the teams

PolpoBoard: common questions
What microcontroller does the PolpoBoard use?
The PolpoBoard is built around the Arduino_Nano_v3.x, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the PolpoBoard PCB?
The PolpoBoard measures 166.3 × 134.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the PolpoBoard?
34 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the PolpoBoard design files?
From the snjung/polpoBoard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the PolpoBoard design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which snjung chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the PolpoBoard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
