About the Lightning-Detector PCB

Lightning-Detector is an open source PCB design by sohamboyythrdh6, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 39 × 55 mm, with 16 components from 16 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 2 resistors, 1 transistor, 1 buzzer, 1 switch and 1 diode.

It belongs with the displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Its a detector that can detect lightning strikes

And with just few steps you can also able to build this and it might save your live to build this detector you need to get all the parts listed in the BOM and the PCB the gerber file is also given in the production file

After getting all the components solder all the components and you are done now whenever you scenic some lightning strikes just turn on this device by the switch and you can see the distance of the strikes and how strong the strikes are also it can count theme. I think this device can warn you by sowing the strength of the strikes.

Lightning-Detector: common questions

How big is the Lightning-Detector PCB?

The Lightning-Detector measures 39 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lightning-Detector?

16 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lightning-Detector design files?

From the sohamboyythrdh6/Lightning-Detector repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lightning-Detector design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with sohamboyythrdh6. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
