About the Joystick PCB

Joystick is an open source PCB design by StudioKAT, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30 × 128.5 mm, with 88 components from 31 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TL072CDT. By type, the board carries 46 resistors, 17 capacitors, 6 ICs, 6 connectors and 6 diodes.

From the project

Joystick is a 6HP manual CV/Gate generator module designed for one-handed operation. By connecting external CV signals to the X and Y inputs, it can also function as an attenuator or inverter. Each axis (X and Y) features independent control over CV range and offset, allowing for custom voltage outputs up to ±10V. Pressing the joystick down outputs a +10V Gate signal.

Joystick: common questions

How big is the Joystick PCB?

The Joystick measures 30 × 128.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Joystick?

88 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Joystick design files?

From the StudioKAT/Joystick repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Joystick design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with StudioKAT. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
