About the DCF77-Addon PCB

DCF77-Addon is an open source STM32 PCB design by Stustup, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 77 × 47.5 mm, with 15 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G051C8T3, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 diodes and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the displays & leds, power & battery and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Nixie Tube Clock with flexible tube driver

CNIX is a nixie tube clock which accepts many diffrent nixie tubes with only slight modifications to the tube carrier board.

The motivation was, that there are not many clocks out there that let you use almost any nixie tube you like. Most have fixed power supplies, underdesigned driver stages or inflexible microcontrollers. I hope to tackle these problems with an adjustable boost converter PSU, extremely flexible (and electrically protected) driver stages and an open source firmware written with free tools.

DCF77-Addon: common questions

What microcontroller does the DCF77-Addon use?

The DCF77-Addon is built around the STM32G051C8T3, from the STM32 family.

How big is the DCF77-Addon PCB?

The DCF77-Addon measures 77 × 47.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DCF77-Addon?

15 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DCF77-Addon design files?

From the Stustup/C-Nixie_CNIX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DCF77-Addon design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Stustup. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DCF77-Addon without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
