About the Kvm base PCB
Kvm base is an open source STM32 PCB design by thatoddmailbox, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 84 × 90.8 mm, with 65 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM8S003F3P, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3, FSUSB74, TMDS361B and SL2.1A. By type, the board carries 29 capacitors, 16 connectors, 12 resistors, 6 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 switch.
From the project
The main board for the open-source HDMI KVM switch I built.
The main board for the open-source HDMI KVM switch I built. Contains HDMI and USB switch ICs, allowing you to share two monitors and four USB devices between three different computers.
This is a 1.6mm four layer PCB, designed for JLCPCB's JLC7628 impedance-controlled stackup. It most likely will not work (or will be limited in terms of HDMI performance) on another stackup.

Kvm base: common questions
What microcontroller does the Kvm base use?
The Kvm base is built around the STM8S003F3P, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Kvm base PCB?
The Kvm base measures 84 × 90.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Kvm base?
65 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Kvm base design files?
From the thatoddmailbox/kvm-base repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Kvm base design in my own project?
It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
Can I test firmware for the Kvm base without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
