About the PanoBoard PCB

PanoBoard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by TomNaiser, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 63.6 × 72.4 mm, with 39 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARD NANO, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the L298. By type, the board carries 12 diodes, 6 resistors, 5 crystals, 4 capacitors, 2 jumpers and 1 IC.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Electronics Board for a Gigapixel Panorama Head (pan and tilt motion)

The latest version PanoBoardV5 is a size-reduced version. With the shrunken electronics box the panorama rig fits into my photo backpack.

PanoBoard: common questions

What microcontroller does the PanoBoard use?

The PanoBoard is built around the ARD NANO, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the PanoBoard PCB?

The PanoBoard measures 63.6 × 72.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PanoBoard?

39 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PanoBoard design files?

From the TomNaiser/PanoBoard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PanoBoard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which TomNaiser chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the PanoBoard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
