About the Chassis PCB

Chassis is an open source PCB design by ToyotaInfoTech, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 39.1 × 31.7 mm, with 13 components from 7 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 2 switches, 1 connector and 1 capacitor.

From the project

RAMN (Resistant Automotive Miniature Network), a miniature CAN/CAN-FD testbed of 4 Electronic Control Units.

Please see the docs 'Hardware' for more details.

The PCBWay re-orders in the docs are based on the design files in this repo at commit dca0831d852cdd53b45b3e2c7c4c0430066c91ad . When changes are made to the design files here and new orders need to be made, the following procedure should be followed to created updated versions of the files in orders/:

Install kikit and run the script makeorders.{bat|sh}` here from within KiCad 7.0 shell or KiCad 7.0 and follow the manual steps required printed to the console.

Chassis bill of materials (BOM)

13 components, 7 distinct parts — part numbers from the project's BOM.

Chassis: common questions

How big is the Chassis PCB?

The Chassis measures 39.1 × 31.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Chassis?

13 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Chassis design files?

From the ToyotaInfoTech/RAMN repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Chassis design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which ToyotaInfoTech chose for the repository.
