This version of the control module contains various improvements over version 1.0/1.1 of the module.

However, the module footprint still shows the same pin mapping as before.

The package of the 8 pin ICs on the module are now changed to TSSOP to improve use of board space.

OSSI CM2: common questions

What microcontroller does the OSSI CM2 use?

The OSSI CM2 is built around the STM32L412C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the OSSI CM2 PCB?

The OSSI CM2 measures 49.5 × 54.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OSSI CM2?

80 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OSSI CM2 design files?

From the transistorgrab/OSSI repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OSSI CM2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which transistorgrab chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the OSSI CM2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
