About the PDH-module

PDH-module is an open source PCB design by TU-Darmstadt-APQ, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-1.2 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 160 × 100 mm, with 82 components from 36 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LT3094EMSE#PBF, LT3045EMSE#PBF, ADA4898-2YRDZ, L7812CV and L7908CV. By type, the board carries 33 capacitors, 25 resistors, 11 ICs, 9 connectors and 3 diodes.

From the project

Produces a PDH error-signal using MiniCircuits SYPD-1+ phase detector and LT1568 4th order low-pass filter. To be used with a AD9959 DDS board.

Digital Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) module =================== This repository contains the KiCad design files of a module for PDH error-signal generation. The PCB is used with a DDS board providing signals for modulation and phase-sensitive demodulation (Gra&Afch AD9959).

- Modulation output for resonant EOM: 15 dBm / 100 MHz

- Variable gain photodetector amplifier: 0 dB to 20 dB / 100 MHz

PDH-module: common questions

How big is the PDH-module?

The PDH-module measures 160 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PDH-module?

82 components, from 36 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PDH-module design files?

From the TU-Darmstadt-APQ/PDH-module repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PDH-module design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-1.2 license, which TU-Darmstadt-APQ chose for the repository.
