About the SYZYGY-PMOD4 PCB

SYZYGY-PMOD4 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by twam, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45 × 60 mm, with 28 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY44-20SS, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 9 diodes, 5 connectors, 2 capacitors and 1 IC.

From the project

SYZYGY Standard port to 4 Pmod™ compatible ports adapter

Board for adapting a SYZYGY Standard compatible port to four Pmod™ compatible ports. It is based on SZG-PMOD4 by Opal Kelly.

The board is compatible with the avr-dna-fw reference firmware.

PCBs can be ordered fully-assembled (besides the High-Speed connector on the bottom side and the pin headers) from JLCPCB. Required files are SYZYGY-PMOD4bomjlc.csv, SYZYGY-PMOD4cpljlc.csv and SYZYGY-PMOD4.zip.

SYZYGY-PMOD4: common questions

What microcontroller does the SYZYGY-PMOD4 use?

The SYZYGY-PMOD4 is built around the ATTINY44-20SS, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the SYZYGY-PMOD4 PCB?

The SYZYGY-PMOD4 measures 45 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SYZYGY-PMOD4?

28 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SYZYGY-PMOD4 design files?

From the twam/SYZYGY-PMOD4 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SYZYGY-PMOD4 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with twam. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the SYZYGY-PMOD4 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
