About the ABBlind PCB

ABBlind is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by UC3Music, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 53.3 mm, with 23 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_UNO, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TS5A22364 and TLV70033DDCT. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 5 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

Device to make random blind tests to audio equipment

Device to make random blind tests to audio equipment.

Why to spend lots of money in audiophile quality devices when you cannot tell the different from a more affordable device? ABBlind allows you to make blind tests for you to try to distinguish between two audio devices. It will randomly present you channels A and B, without telling you which channel are you listening to until you have heard three samples. Then, it will tell you in which order you listened to devices A and B.

ABBlind: common questions

What microcontroller does the ABBlind use?

The ABBlind is built around the ARDUINO_UNO, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the ABBlind PCB?

The ABBlind measures 99.1 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ABBlind?

23 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ABBlind design files?

From the UC3Music/ABBlind repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ABBlind design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with UC3Music. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ABBlind without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
