About the Attiny85 time switch PCB

Attiny85 time switch is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by UCSIG, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85.7 × 85.7 mm, with 32 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the PMV20XNER, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the ATTINY85V-10PU and AP7383-50W5-7. By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 7 capacitors, 7 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 transistors and 2 switches.

From the project

Low-power time switch using the ATtiny85 microcontroller.

The aim of this project is to switch a load on and off in regular time intervals. The device itself consumes only very little sleep current (~19.6uA on average). The device also monitors the supply voltage and turns off the load if the supply drops lower than the defined threshold.

- Clock calibration algorithm with values stored in the internal eeprom - Supply voltage monitoring - Jumper configuration for feature selection (supply voltage monitoring + time switch/only supply voltage monitoring) - Jumper configuration for undervoltage threshold selection (12/24V) - Low current consumption…

Attiny85 time switch: common questions

What microcontroller does the Attiny85 time switch use?

The Attiny85 time switch is built around the PMV20XNER, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Attiny85 time switch PCB?

The Attiny85 time switch measures 85.7 × 85.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Attiny85 time switch?

32 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Attiny85 time switch design files?

From the UCSIG/attiny85_time_switch repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Attiny85 time switch design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which UCSIG chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Attiny85 time switch without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
