About the DIY-CNC-Mill PCB
DIY-CNC-Mill is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by VedantGithub123, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 104.1 × 132.1 mm, with 11 components from 11 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ARDUINO_MEGA_SHIELD, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the Stepper Driver 1, Stepper Driver 2, Stepper Driver 3, Stepper Driver 4 and Motor Driver. By type, the board carries 5 ICs and 5 connectors.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
3D-printed CNC mill using stepper motors with PyGame based user interface. Supports 3D lines, arcs, and cubic Bezier curves with velocity and acceleration limits.
The goal of this project is to develop a G-code interpreter and CNC mill. The CNC mill can follow straight lines, arcs and cubic bezier curves. It is 3D-printed with PETG, uses stepper motors, which are controlled with an Arduino Mega. The code ran on the laptop sends motor speeds to the Arduino, which moves the motors accordingly. To use the program, connect the Arudino Mega to your laptop with a USB cable. Run the Python file

DIY-CNC-Mill: common questions
What microcontroller does the DIY-CNC-Mill use?
The DIY-CNC-Mill is built around the ARDUINO_MEGA_SHIELD, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the DIY-CNC-Mill PCB?
The DIY-CNC-Mill measures 104.1 × 132.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the DIY-CNC-Mill?
11 components, from 11 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the DIY-CNC-Mill design files?
From the VedantGithub123/DIY-CNC-Mill repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the DIY-CNC-Mill design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which VedantGithub123 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the DIY-CNC-Mill without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
