About the MotoHUDsch PCB

MotoHUDsch is an open source STM32 PCB design by wiciu15, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 128 × 55 mm, with 97 components from 45 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM2904DT, AZ1117-3.3, MCP16301 and M95320-WMN6P. By type, the board carries 45 resistors, 18 capacitors, 10 diodes, 9 connectors, 6 ICs and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the test & measurement designs in this gallery.

From the project

KiCad Schematic and PCB for motoHUD (https://github.com/wiciu15/motoHUDini)

Rev1 has problems with thermals on 5V regulator, ADC accuracy and other brain farts like bad footprint or silkscreen marking

Rev2 comes with fixes and some new features like button switches. It is not perfect however :/

If you don't have/like KiCAD there are schematic PDFs and gerber files.

MotoHUDsch: common questions

What microcontroller does the MotoHUDsch use?

The MotoHUDsch is built around the STM32F103C8Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the MotoHUDsch PCB?

The MotoHUDsch measures 128 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MotoHUDsch?

97 components, from 45 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MotoHUDsch design files?

From the wiciu15/motoHUDsch repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MotoHUDsch design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with wiciu15. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MotoHUDsch without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
