About the Brewery-3dp motherboard PCB

Brewery-3dp motherboard is an open source STM32 PCB design by WilliamPrime, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 140 × 100 mm, with 334 components from 63 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F407Z_E-G_TX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MCP6004, LM61430AFSQRJRRQ1, LM25145RGYR, DOZ45N03T and USBLC6-2SC6. By type, the board carries 131 resistors, 74 capacitors, 52 connectors, 36 diodes, 30 ICs and 5 inductors.

From the project

A 3d printer expansion board designed to help with monitoring and managing thermals in a 3d printer, this will be achieved with an STM32 as the MCU and then a bunch of JST-XH ports for thermistors and fans. It should be the perfect board if you feel like having FAR too many thermistors under the disguise of science!

- supports 12-30V input -20 buffered thermistor inputs - 12 fan outputs each with selection between 5V,12V and Vbus - 12V is dropped down with a buck converter on the board with 12A max - if the input voltage is 12V the 12V buck shouldnt be used - 5V is dropped down with a buck converter on the board with 12A max

- 4 Pwmed outputs meant for heaters or really beefy fans - 35A max per output, 62A max across all of the ports - the heaters are on a seperate fuse and terminal in, allowing you to save power budget for fans or just run things at a different voltage.

Brewery-3dp motherboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Brewery-3dp motherboard use?

The Brewery-3dp motherboard is built around the STM32F407Z_E-G_TX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Brewery-3dp motherboard PCB?

The Brewery-3dp motherboard measures 140 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6062 mm thick.

How many components are on the Brewery-3dp motherboard?

334 components, from 63 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Brewery-3dp motherboard design files?

From the WilliamPrime/Brewery-3dp-motherboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Brewery-3dp motherboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with WilliamPrime. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Brewery-3dp motherboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
