About the Glassboard PCB

Glassboard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by YakshithK, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85.6 × 54 mm, with 17 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY202-SSF, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the NT3H2111W0FTT. By type, the board carries 3 LEDs, 2 ICs and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the power & battery and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

A transparent NFC business card that lights up when you tap your phone to it. No battery. No charging. Ever.

Glassboard is a credit card sized transparent circuit board. It stores my contact info and portfolio link using NFC. When someone taps their phone to it, two things happen at once: their phone opens my portfolio link, and three green LEDs on the card light up and animate.

Glassboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Glassboard use?

The Glassboard is built around the ATTINY202-SSF, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Glassboard PCB?

The Glassboard measures 85.6 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.93 mm thick.

How many components are on the Glassboard?

17 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Glassboard design files?

From the YakshithK/Glassboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Glassboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with YakshithK. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Glassboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
