From the project

Open source hardware and software project of a regulated soldering station for RT soldering tips

FWRTSS is an open source hardware and software project of a temperature controlled soldering station designed to be used with Weller RT soldering tips.

The majority of the software used to build and debug this project are also open source:

- KiCad (5126) for PCB design with the amazing new interactive router from CERN team.

The main goal of this project was to teach myself some new stuffs as it is my first real project with a stm32 MCU and also my first surface mount PCB project with 0.5mm pitch components. Disclaimer

Fwrtss design files

The KiCad project lives in the ynsta/fwrtss repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Fwrtss: common questions

What microcontroller does the Fwrtss use?

The Fwrtss is built around the STM32F302C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Fwrtss PCB?

The Fwrtss measures 70 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Fwrtss?

101 components, from 37 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Fwrtss design files?

From the ynsta/fwrtss repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Fwrtss design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ynsta. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Fwrtss without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
