About the Sdi12-adapter PCB

Sdi12-adapter is an open source STM32 PCB design by z4ika, published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 52.5 × 30.3 mm, with 37 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G431CBUx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LDI1117-3.3H and TXS0102DCT. By type, the board carries 14 capacitors, 9 resistors, 5 connectors, 4 diodes, 3 ICs and 1 crystal.

STM32F103CBT6 based SDI-12 to USB2.0 adapter board

Current revision includes bidirectional 5V - 3.3V level shifting without logical voltage level inversion. This ensures compability of SDI standard with TTL logic. All of the parts have been standarized and designated manufacturer is JLCPCB. Project includes index.html as BOM listing.

Sdi12-adapter: common questions

What microcontroller does the Sdi12-adapter use?

The Sdi12-adapter is built around the STM32G431CBUx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Sdi12-adapter PCB?

The Sdi12-adapter measures 52.5 × 30.3 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sdi12-adapter?

37 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sdi12-adapter design files?

From the z4ika/sdi12-adapter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sdi12-adapter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its AGPL-3.0 license, which z4ika chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Sdi12-adapter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
