About the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 PCB

HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by AchimPieters, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 46.5 × 22.5 mm, with 14 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 6 diodes, 6 resistors, 1 IC and 1 battery holder.

From the project

HALLOWEEN – JACK O’ LANTERN V2

This project is a next-level version of the original Jack O’ Lantern flickering flame. It uses an ATtiny85 and six individually controlled LEDs to simulate a more realistic and dynamic fire effect — perfect for Halloween decorations, cosplay props, fantasy builds, and magical scenes.

Now with optional blue flame mode for a magical, Harry Potter–inspired effect!

HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 use?

The HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 is built around the ATtiny85-20P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 PCB?

The HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 measures 46.5 × 22.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2?

14 components, from 5 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 design files?

From the AchimPieters/HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which AchimPieters chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the HALLOWEEN-JACK-O-LANTERN-V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
