About the Chip PCB

Chip is an open source PCB design by alxgmpr, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 8.4 × 7.6 mm, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 2 capacitors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

BGA-67 NAND flash to DIP48 adapter for XGecu programmers, split across a flash carrier and a DIP48 base board

Reusable bridge between the Google Home Mini's VFBGA67 NAND lands and a commercial XGecu BGA-to-DIP48 socket adapter.

The architecture is intentionally asymmetric:

The actual NAND remains clamped in the XGecu adapter. That adapter/NAND assembly moves between the programmer and board B. Board A is a permanent, chipless interposer soldered to the Google motherboard; it has no NAND package and no sacrificial memory.

Chip: common questions

How big is the Chip PCB?

The Chip measures 8.4 × 7.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Chip?

3 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Chip design files?

From the alxgmpr/bga67-to-dip48 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Chip design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with alxgmpr. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
