About the Wmk PCB

Wmk is an open source STM32 PCB design by arkadiuszmakarenko, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 32.8 × 100 mm, with 20 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LM1117MPX-3.3. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 4 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 jumpers, 1 crystal and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards and retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

Combined projects RISKYKVM, RISKYMOUSE and REA1200

A collection of USB-HID adapter boards based on the WCH CH32V203C8T6 RISC-V microcontroller. The repository holds the KiCad hardware projects and the firmware that turns each board into a USB host for legacy input devices (keyboards, mice, gamepads).

All three boards share the same SoC (CH32V203C8T6, RV32IMAC), the same toolchain, and the same Makefile-driven build.

Wmk: common questions

What microcontroller does the Wmk use?

The Wmk is built around the STM32F103C8T6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Wmk PCB?

The Wmk measures 32.8 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 4.69 mm thick.

How many components are on the Wmk?

20 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Wmk design files?

From the arkadiuszmakarenko/RISKY repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Wmk design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with arkadiuszmakarenko. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Wmk without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
