About the H-THING PCB

H-THING is an open source PCB design by Arrakark, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 44.6 × 31 mm, with 18 components from 11 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 6 transistors, 5 resistors, 4 connectors and 3 capacitors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

An h-bridge circuit for ENPH 253 robot lab

An H-Bridge circuit for controlling a single robot motor.

5V - 17V motor voltage range To be used with <1000Hz switching freqnuency (500Hz is preferred) Supports 3.3v and 5.0v logic level inputs Capable of driving up to 3A Requires only one PWM pin for speed, one digial I/O for direction Can be used as a half-bridge if direction pin is disconnected Has space for a current-sensing resistor (R6) Cannot be used to coast the motor

H-THING: common questions

How big is the H-THING PCB?

The H-THING measures 44.6 × 31 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the H-THING?

18 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the H-THING design files?

From the Arrakark/H-THING repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the H-THING design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Arrakark chose for the repository.
