About the KiCad-Claude assisted PCB

KiCad-Claude assisted is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by artemmelnyk-extern, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66 × 53.3 mm, with 31 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the UNO R4 WiFi or UNO Q, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the PC817. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 8 diodes, 4 ICs, 4 capacitors, 1 module and 1 connector.

From the project

Test repo with AI guided KiCad development.

An Arduino UNO shield with four isolated 24 V inputs: two emergency-stop buttons (one normally-closed contact each) and two safety-lidar outputs. Each input goes through a PC817 optocoupler, so the 24 V side is electrically isolated from the microcontroller. It works unchanged on the UNO R4 WiFi (5 V logic) and the UNO Q (3.3 V logic).

The KiCad schematic and board in this repository are generated by Python scripts. The scripts are the source; the KiCad files are their output.

KiCad-Claude assisted: common questions

What microcontroller does the KiCad-Claude assisted use?

The KiCad-Claude assisted is built around the UNO R4 WiFi or UNO Q, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the KiCad-Claude assisted PCB?

The KiCad-Claude assisted measures 66 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the KiCad-Claude assisted?

31 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the KiCad-Claude assisted design files?

From the artemmelnyk-extern/KiCad-Claude-assisted repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the KiCad-Claude assisted design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which artemmelnyk-extern chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the KiCad-Claude assisted without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
