About the ULACIT 2025 PCB

ULACIT 2025 is an open source NXP PCB design by astropanther, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48.3 × 61 mm, with 6 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family. By type, the board carries 5 connectors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the wearables, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A heart simulator project developed during the International Summer Program Exchange between ULACIT (Costa Rica) and Rice University (USA). This project was completed at the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (OEDK) as part of the Rice University George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing.

This project serves as an excellent foundation for continued innovation in biomedical engineering, combining hardware design, software development, and real-world medical applications.

ULACIT 2025: common questions

What microcontroller does the ULACIT 2025 use?

The ULACIT 2025 is built around the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family.

How big is the ULACIT 2025 PCB?

The ULACIT 2025 measures 48.3 × 61 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ULACIT 2025?

6 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ULACIT 2025 design files?

From the astropanther/heart_simulator repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ULACIT 2025 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with astropanther. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ULACIT 2025 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
