About the Arduino as-ISP-shield

Arduino as-ISP-shield is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by atoomnetmarc, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 57.2 × 53.3 mm, with 17 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 11 connectors, 3 diodes and 3 resistors.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Arduino as ISP shield created with Kicad.

Quickly hacked together Arduino shield to program other Arduino's. Can also be used to program the old AT90S1200 microcontroller using avrdude. I used AVRDUDESS 2.14 with avrdude 7.0.

Use the ArduinoISP.ino sketch to program your Arduino.

Arduino as-ISP-shield: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduino as-ISP-shield use?

The Arduino as-ISP-shield is built around the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduino as-ISP-shield?

The Arduino as-ISP-shield measures 57.2 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduino as-ISP-shield?

17 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduino as-ISP-shield design files?

From the atoomnetmarc/Arduino-as-ISP-shield repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduino as-ISP-shield design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which atoomnetmarc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Arduino as-ISP-shield without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
