About the Hw microdiff PCB
Hw microdiff is an open source PCB design by aw, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 22.5 × 46 mm, with 26 components from 22 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the C6187, C6186 and C8963. By type, the board carries 7 jumpers, 5 capacitors, 5 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors and 2 diodes.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
An RS485/RJ45 stackable hardware module
A simple 46mmx22.5mm module to route power and differential signals (RS-485) over RJ-45.
This project is also described in detail on Hackaday.io
It can be purchased as a kit from Tindie
This project is certified open hardware:
μDiff provides an easy way to reliably transfer power and a digital signal over a long-distance using an inexpensive RJ-45 cable.
It uses RS-485 differential signaling and 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet pinouts to achieve this. It can accept an input voltage between 6.5V-12V, and provides outputs of 5V and 3.3V. All signals and voltages can be accessed through a…
