About the Grover PCB

Grover is an open source STM32 PCB design by azonenberg, published on GitHub under the BSD-3-Clause license. It is a board, with 80 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32H735-UFBGA176-25, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the XILINX_ULTRASCALEPLUS_B676, AT24MAC402, ADM3101E_QFN and ECS-1612MV-250-CN. By type, the board carries 34 capacitors, 20 resistors, 8 diodes, 7 connectors, 5 ICs and 4 test points.

Artix/Kintex UltraScale+ based BERT

Fully open source (3-clause BSD licensed) headless bit error rate tester (BERT).

1U rackmount form factor with 1000baseT or 10Gbase-R interface to client PC.

Currently under early development (requirements identification and beginnings of schematic capture)

Depends on what FPGA is loaded (any UltraScale+ in the B676 package will work).

Artix UltraScale+, any speed grade: 16.375 Gbps Kintex UltraScale+, -1 speed: 25.785 Gbps Kintex UltraScale+, -2 speed: 28.21 Gbps Kintex UltraScale+, -3 speed: 32.75 Gbps

Grover: common questions

What microcontroller does the Grover use?

The Grover is built around the STM32H735-UFBGA176-25, from the STM32 family.

How many components are on the Grover?

80 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Grover design files?

From the azonenberg/grover repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Grover design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its BSD-3-Clause license, which azonenberg chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Grover without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
