About the Ioexpanderboard PCB

Ioexpanderboard is an open source PCB design by c0pperdragon, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 52.1 × 66 mm, with 14 components from 9 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74LVC86 and LD1117S33TR_SOT223. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 2 ICs and 2 capacitors.

From the project

A generic main board to build 8-bit computers

To allow more sophisticated communication with the outside world than just blinking lights and buttons, a small IO board can be attached to the headers of the IO area. This boards provides two serial communication ports and one SDcard socket.

Using 4 output pins and 4 input pins, 2 independent serial ports (DSUB-8 connectors) can be controlled. Because the system architecture of the ByteMachine does not support interrupts, the CPU will periodically poll the incomming data. This is made possible by the hardware handshake with RTS/CTS lines which allows the communication partner to only send…

Ioexpanderboard: common questions

How big is the Ioexpanderboard PCB?

The Ioexpanderboard measures 52.1 × 66 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ioexpanderboard?

14 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ioexpanderboard design files?

From the c0pperdragon/ByteMachine repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ioexpanderboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with c0pperdragon. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
