About the Abx tayda PCB

Abx tayda is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by cellularmitosis, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 80 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_NANO, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 28 resistors, 19 diodes, 12 transistors, 9 connectors, 6 relays and 3 switches.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A relay board for performing blind A/B testing of two audio sources.

A relay board for performing blind A/B testing of two audio sources.

This version of the board is designed around parts available from Tayda electronics.

This board design is open source hardware, released under the terms of the MIT license. It requires an ancient version of Kicad (sorry, not sorry 😝). Debian users will need to add a jessie source to install the libpng12 dependency.

Abx tayda: common questions

What microcontroller does the Abx tayda use?

The Abx tayda is built around the ARDUINO_NANO, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Abx tayda PCB?

The Abx tayda measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Abx tayda?

80 components, from 26 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Abx tayda design files?

From the cellularmitosis/abx-tayda repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Abx tayda design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which cellularmitosis chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Abx tayda without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
