About the PiCoCo-Breakout

PiCoCo-Breakout is an open source PCB design by cognitivegears, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 52.8 × 99 mm, with 7 components from 7 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 2 connectors, 2 capacitors, 1 fuse, 1 diode and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

CoCo cartridge interface with the Pi Pico

A dumb adapter: the 40 fingers of a Tandy Color Computer cartridge slot brought out 1:1 to a 2x20 0.1" header, so the PiCoCo bus interface can be breadboarded. It carried the breadboard phase before the main board existed; docs/breadboard-plan.md points to the results.

Everything here is generated by tools/genbreakout.py (run it with KiCad's bundled Python). Do not hand-edit the .kicadsch; the .kicadpcb` is also generated, including all routing, and is safe to regenerate.
