About the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin PCB

Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Cosmin2106, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 31.5 × 52.8 mm, with 16 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny Pins Left, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 3 diodes, 3 resistors, 1 switch and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

This repository contains the CAD files for a custom Arduino Shield built to help program 8-pin ATtiny MCU ICs.

This board was built to serve as shield for Arduino UNO in order to declutter it from all the jumper cables necessary to correctly wire up the ATtiny chips for programming. The Arduino ISP source code used can be found here. For this project, I used an Arduino UNO R4 Minima and it worked as well as the previous versions.

The board was designed for through-hole components only, so everything can be assembled just like any other soldering kit out there.

Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin use?

The Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin is built around the ATtiny Pins Left, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin PCB?

The Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin measures 31.5 × 52.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin?

16 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin design files?

From the Cosmin2106/arduinoisp-attiny-8-pin-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which Cosmin2106 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Arduinoisp attiny-8-pin without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
