Test PCB layout, top view — open source AVR/Arduino board by cozykeys

About the Test PCB

Test is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by cozykeys, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 243.1 × 148.9 mm, with 142 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 63 relays, 63 diodes, 8 capacitors, 4 resistors, 1 IC and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Various utilities for making keyboard development easier

This repository contains the design files for the CozyKeys Radix keyboard. This keyboard is still early in the design phase and is a work in progress.

Adafruit has two different 128x32 OLED display modules but I believe the I2C one is preferable. Other keyboards that have integrated SSD1306 displays have used I2C display modules.

Test: common questions

What microcontroller does the Test use?

The Test is built around the ATMEGA32U4, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Test PCB?

The Test measures 243.1 × 148.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Test?

142 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Test design files?

From the cozykeys/resources repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Test design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cozykeys. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Test without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
