About the Rstctlr PCB

Rstctlr is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by dancrossnyc, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 114.3 × 63.5 mm, with 95 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny2313A-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the FT232RL, MIC2025-1YM, TLC59281 and LTV-827S. By type, the board carries 53 diodes, 12 ICs, 11 connectors, 9 resistors, 8 capacitors and 1 jumper.

From the project

This is, fundamentally, a set of serial-controlled solid-state switches. I used them to control the power and reset functions of development machines with ATX motherboards.

Rstctlr: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rstctlr use?

The Rstctlr is built around the ATtiny2313A-20SU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Rstctlr PCB?

The Rstctlr measures 114.3 × 63.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rstctlr?

95 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rstctlr design files?

From the dancrossnyc/rstpwr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rstctlr design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which dancrossnyc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rstctlr without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
