H field probe with two decoupled loops

To achieve optimal performance, coils must usually be tuned to the Larmor frequency, e.g., by adjusting one or more capacitors or physical dimensions. Resonant frequency can be measured readily using a vector network analyzer (VNA) and a single loop probe with an S11 measurement (analogous to the dip meter measurement used in the past when VNAs were not cheap and portable). The coil’s sensitivity or SNR of the received signal is related to the ratio of loaded and unloaded quality factors (Q) [1]. With some corrections [2], Q can be measured using the same S11 measurement above, but it is…

Dual loop RF probe: common questions

How big is the Dual loop RF probe PCB?

The Dual loop RF probe measures 99.5 × 33.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dual loop RF probe?

2 components, from 1 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dual loop RF probe design files?

From the dezanche/Dual-loop_RF_probe repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dual loop RF probe design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dezanche. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
