About the AI-Rover PCB

AI-Rover is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by DRicevt, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a board, with 48 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico L Blue, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 12 capacitors, 8 diodes and 7 connectors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Physical AI rover platform focused on real-world autonomy, embedded sensing, and edge inference. Combines Jetson-based AI, distributed microcontrollers, custom power systems, and modular robotics into a continuously evolving testbed for navigation, perception, hardware integration, and autonomous system development.

Robotic Onboard Autonomy for Mission Execution and Reasoning

ROAMER is a proof-of-concept physical AI rover for real-world autonomy research and a small-scale "Mars-like" rover design study. This repository represents the early prototype phase of the system, focused on proving out the hardware, sensing, controls, and onboard autonomy architecture before it becomes a fully integrated rover platform.

AI-Rover: common questions

What microcontroller does the AI-Rover use?

The AI-Rover is built around the Pico L Blue, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How many components are on the AI-Rover?

48 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AI-Rover design files?

From the DRicevt/AI-Rover repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AI-Rover design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which DRicevt chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the AI-Rover without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
