AAMB wearable light strip redesign

1. Install the Fabrication Toolkit plugin. This automates the PCB fabrication process. 2. Once you've verified that the board has no unexpected errors in the electrical rules check and that the silkscreen is correct (any labels/versions updated, etc), press the fabrication button to generate the gerber and placement files in the production folder. Note that this will also create a bill of materials (BOM) for the PCB. However, the JLCPCB part numbers are not currently added to schematic (there are instructions here) so the latest BOM is kept in bom.xls. 3. Update the BOM file in bom.xsl with…

Emrick: common questions

What microcontroller does the Emrick use?

The Emrick is built around the C84353, from the TI MSP430/CC family.

How big is the Emrick PCB?

The Emrick measures 44.4 × 59.3 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 4.69 mm thick.

How many components are on the Emrick?

90 components, from 59 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Emrick design files?

From the eduxstad/Emrick repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Emrick design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with eduxstad. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Emrick without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug TI MSP430/CC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
