About the Elektronika-1 PCB

Elektronika-1 is an open source TI MSP430/CC PCB design by BenjaminSoelberg, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 29.5 × 29.5 mm, with 14 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the MSP430FR2433, from the TI MSP430/CC family. Other key parts include the AS1115. By type, the board carries 4 capacitors, 3 resistors, 2 ICs, 1 crystal, 1 connector and 1 battery holder.

It belongs with the wearables, test & measurement and retro computing designs in this gallery.

Elektronika-1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Elektronika-1 use?

The Elektronika-1 is built around the MSP430FR2433, from the TI MSP430/CC family.

How big is the Elektronika-1 PCB?

The Elektronika-1 measures 29.5 × 29.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Elektronika-1?

14 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Elektronika-1 design files?

From the BenjaminSoelberg/elektronika-1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Elektronika-1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which BenjaminSoelberg chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Elektronika-1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug TI MSP430/CC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
