About the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini PCB

Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by etimou, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.6 × 48.3 mm, with 39 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MIC5205-3.3YM5. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 5 jumpers, 5 resistors, 2 ICs, 1 transistor and 1 crystal.

From the project

Arduino Pro Mini + nRF24L01P = Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini

You need to select Arduino Pro or Pro mini, ATmega328P (3.3V, 8MHz) in the Arduino IDE. An USB-Serial adapter that provides 3.3V is required, otherwise the radio chip can be damaged.

The example program consists in a roundtrip message that is sent from a node, using a gateway. You need two modules.

Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini use?

The Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini is built around the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini PCB?

The Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini measures 21.6 × 48.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini?

39 components, from 30 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini design files?

From the etimou/Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with etimou. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Arduino-RF-Pro-Mini without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
