From the project

PFM Controller V4 files for independent design review. For application controlling the Limiter, HVPS, and Transrex supplies.

This directory contains supporting files for the PFM V4 controller board preliminary design review (PDR). These materials are a snapshot provided for reviewer evaluation of the V4 revision prior to fabrication and test.

PFMV4Documentation.pdf`** is the main review document. It covers:

- Architecture and design rationale - Pin assignment (STM32G474QET6, LQFP128) - Hardware block diagrams (MCU, PFM output, fault handling) - Board physical layout, box interior layout, and 6-layer PCB stackup - Complete pin listing in package order (appendix)

PFM-Controller V4: common questions

What microcontroller does the PFM-Controller V4 use?

The PFM-Controller V4 is built around the STM32G474QET6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the PFM-Controller V4 PCB?

The PFM-Controller V4 measures 343.6 × 83.8 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PFM-Controller V4?

495 components, from 60 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PFM-Controller V4 design files?

From the everettpenne/PFMV4_Prelim_Files repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PFM-Controller V4 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with everettpenne. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the PFM-Controller V4 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
