About the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x

FLOPPY BOARD v2.x is an open source STM32 PCB design by FloppyO1, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 23.4 × 33.3 mm, with 18 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G03XXXXX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AT24C32. By type, the board carries 5 capacitors, 4 diodes, 3 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 resistors and 1 jumper.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Floppy Boards are a series of breakout boards for rapid prototyping which I developed as an alternative of Arduino.

This is the second version of the Floppy Board, and it includes a few small improvements that make it simpler and faster to use. The improvements that I made are as follows:

- The total width has been reduced, allowing this version to be used with only one breadboard. - The 3.3V output pin now has precisely 3.3V (3.263V), ensuring no more 3V output! - Pin names have been added on each side of the board. - The board now has a slimmer profile that makes it possible to use it upside down. - The microcontroller is the same as the first Floppy Board, but it can be upgraded with an equivalent MCU…

FLOPPY BOARD v2.x: common questions

What microcontroller does the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x use?

The FLOPPY BOARD v2.x is built around the STM32G03XXXXX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x?

The FLOPPY BOARD v2.x measures 23.4 × 33.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x?

18 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x design files?

From the FloppyO1/Floppy_Boards repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which FloppyO1 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FLOPPY BOARD v2.x without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
