About the Reiyyeesr PCB

Reiyyeesr is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by frgrw, published on GitHub under the TAPR-OHL-1.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 40 × 54 mm, with 34 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the AT90USB1286-AUR, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6 and LM2776DBVT. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 12 capacitors, 3 ICs, 2 transistors, 2 connectors and 1 crystal.

From the project

This repository contains the schematic and layout files for the Microsoft Sculpt Wired Conversion Mod.

To get the board manufactured: 1) Install Kicad & the PCBWay plugin. Use the plugin to start an order, select HASL lead-free if you want lead-free. The other defaults should be fine. Check the box for Assembly service 2) Upload the BOM (bill of materials) and component placement file. These are generated from Kicad: use Tools > "Generate BOM" from the Schematic Editor, and File > "Fabrication Outputs" > "Component placement (.pos)" from the PCB Editor.

Reiyyeesr: common questions

What microcontroller does the Reiyyeesr use?

The Reiyyeesr is built around the AT90USB1286-AUR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Reiyyeesr PCB?

The Reiyyeesr measures 40 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Reiyyeesr?

34 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Reiyyeesr design files?

From the frgrw/reiyyeesr repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Reiyyeesr design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its TAPR-OHL-1.0 license, which frgrw chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Reiyyeesr without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
