Open source GPS running watch 🏃⌚ (Hardware Repository)
Running is my hobby, and ask anyone who has taken their running hobby seriously and they'll tell you having a GPS running watch is a must. Throughout my time using one, I sometimes encounter issues and thought to myself, "Why does it happen?", "I wish I had access to the raw data", "Why is the latest model way more expensive for just an additional sensor or software feature?", "I wish I could tune my watch to the way I wanted it, for longer battery life or better user experience", etc.

Open running watch hw: common questions
What microcontroller does the Open running watch hw use?
The Open running watch hw is built around the STM32L475RGT6, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Open running watch hw PCB?
The Open running watch hw measures 41 × 61.9 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.64716 mm thick.
How many components are on the Open running watch hw?
208 components, from 68 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Open running watch hw design files?
From the fuad1502/open-running-watch-hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Open running watch hw design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with fuad1502. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Open running watch hw without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
