Quick test to see feasibility to downgrade the KFDTool GUI to .NET 4.0

A fork of the amazing KFDTool software for an Arduino, plus schematics and board files for a shield.

Completed shields can be purchased from the online store

Note: You must use the build of the KFDTool software attached to this GitHub repo in order for your homebrew adapter to work. The stock KFDTool software will not find your Arduino.

Currently, the following boards have been tested and confirmed to work:

KFDToolSW NET4.0: common questions

What microcontroller does the KFDToolSW NET4.0 use?

The KFDToolSW NET4.0 is built around the Arduino_1pin, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the KFDToolSW NET4.0 PCB?

The KFDToolSW NET4.0 measures 68.6 × 53.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the KFDToolSW NET4.0?

34 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the KFDToolSW NET4.0 design files?

From the gatekeep/KFDToolSW_NET4.0 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the KFDToolSW NET4.0 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which gatekeep chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the KFDToolSW NET4.0 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
