About the Pcb bcu2

Pcb bcu2 is an open source NXP PCB design by geertu, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 106.1 × 91.4 mm, with 86 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Teensy3.2, from the NXP family. Other key parts include the HCPL-181, 74LV1T08 and INA219xID. By type, the board carries 38 resistors, 13 ICs, 12 capacitors, 10 diodes, 7 connectors and 6 transistors.

From the project

Board Control Unit Duo (PCB)

This is a small board to control operation of two development boards, e.g. on your desk, or in a board farm.

- Controlled by a Teensy 3.2 (https://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy32.html), - Two power control and measurement channels (3.3-14V, max. 3.2A), - Two UART channels - Optional buffer circuitry supports 1.8 to 5V, or fixed 3.3V, - Add external MAX3232 board for RS232-compatible voltage levels. - Six opto-isolators for e.g. reset, wake-up, and keypress simulation, - Two RGB status LEDs, - 4-pin I2C expansion connector, - 4-pin GPIO expansion connector.

Pcb bcu2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb bcu2 use?

The Pcb bcu2 is built around the Teensy3.2, from the NXP family.

How big is the Pcb bcu2?

The Pcb bcu2 measures 106.1 × 91.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb bcu2?

86 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb bcu2 design files?

From the geertu/pcb-bcu2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb bcu2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with geertu. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb bcu2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
